Dr. Salesh Budhoo

Dr. Salesh Budhoo qualified as an MD from the Medical University of South Africa in 1999. He completed a Diploma in Obstetrics in 2002. He relocated to Canada in November 2002 and worked as an ER and Family physician in the Burin peninsula, Newfoundland.

He practised as a Family physician, hospitalist, ER physician and GP obstetrician in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia from 2004 to 2010. He was an active member of staff at Yarmouth Regional Hospital and held positions as a treasurer and Vice President of the medical staff association. He was the Family Physician advisor for the Regional Stroke care programme in South West Nova Scotia. Due to his avid interest and knowledge of electronic medical records/information, he was appointed as a Physician Peer Leader for the Nova Scotia PHIM programme.

He relocated to Ontario in 2010 and has since been practising Family Medicine and aesthetic medicine with his wife ( Dr N. Rughubir) in Mississauga. He is currently a Physician Peer Leader with Ontario MD, Treasurer for the Solo Doctors Medical Interest Group of the Ontario Medical Association and an accredited Physician Examiner with Veterans Evaluations Services (USA).

He has taught medical students & Family Medicine Residents from the University of Toronto and was honoured with the Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching – Clerkship in 2015.
